A homeowner experienced cracking to a rear patio retaining wall and deterioration of the existing patio slab.

The project involved structural repairs, drainage improvements and complete reconstruction of the patio to create a safe, durable and attractive outdoor space.

The loss adjuster came to us because they wanted a more efficient and cost effective solution than that offered by competitors. We were able to apply our knowledge of Helifix methodologies and reinforced slabs to remove the need to demolish the wall.

What was our process of structural repair and reconstruction?

1. Demolition and removal of the existing planter wall, hedge row, patio slab and paving finishes including steps to the lower part of the garden.
2. Removal and rebuild to the brick wall adjacent to the steps leading to the lower part of the garden.
3. Structural crack repairs using Helifix stainless steel reinforcement and resin injection techniques.
4. Installation of stainless steel Helifix Cemties to improve stability between the patio retaining wall and new reinforced concrete down stand beams.
5. Construction of a new mesh reinforced concrete slab with movement joints and drainage falls.
6. Installation of a new ACO drainage system connected to the existing drainage network.
7. Construction of new garden steps.
8. Installation of new riven sandstone paving.
